The Maryland Blue Crab is one of the most recognizable symbols of our beloved state of Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay. The coastal regions of Maryland have been inhabited for roughly 14,000 years. For this entire time period, shellfish such as crab and oyster were a very abundant source of food for the people living in the region. I wanted to make a tote bag which celebrates the Eastern Shore and Southern Maryland, and decided a Blue Crab would be the best symbol. Tote bag is 15"x14.5" and made of 8 oz 100% cotton canvas.
